RSE
At Stilton CE Primary Academy we aim to provide a strong and caring atmosphere where moral and spiritual values are developed throughout the whole curriculum. We believe that by developing the whole person we will enable individuals to lead a rewarding, satisfying and fulfilling life. Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education and citizenship, provides the opportunity for all members of the school community to explore and understand their relationship to themselves, others and the world we live in.
We teach PSHE and citizenship through three strands of knowledge, skills and attitudes. The areas of study are:
1.Developing confidence and responsibility and making the most of their abilities
2.Preparing to play an active role as citizens
3.Developing a healthy lifestyle
4.Developing good relationships and respecting differences between people.
Our teaching follows the Cambridgeshire PSHE and Citizenship Scheme of Work and covers topics such as:
Emotional Well Being
Healthy Choices
Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)
Drug Education
Personal Safety including E-Safety and Bullying
Citizenship
Economic wellbeing.
As a result of changes to the statutory RSE curriculum, during the Summer Term of 2021 we reviewed our RSE policy and welcomed the views of parents, carers, staff and governors during our consultation period.
