Owl Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Kings and Queens
We will be finding out about the Royal Family, family trees and where they live this half term. We will be having our own coronation ceremony, having a Royal tea party and learning about other kings and queens from the past, in stories and around the world. In PSHE we will learn how to keep safe and in PE we will be dancing. We shall be making crowns, painting ourselves as kings and queens, printing and learning about Henri Rousseau in art. In music we will listen to the music of Louis Armstrong and make our own music too.
In phonics we will be finishing the last Set 2 few digraphs and trigraphs and then really cementing our knowledge of those sounds in both reading and writing. As we move towards year 1, we will be working slightly more and playing slightly less, so that the children become prepared for the change. We will be writing sentences and learning when to use capital letters and what they look like. In maths we shall learn all about 3D shapes, numbers to 20, number bonds and improving our number formation.
What a busy half term!
