How to help at home

Reading and target times tables should be completed daily.

Use Maths targets to practice the four operations including using these in word problems.

Encourage your child to do extra research about parts of a subject which interest them, using books or the internet.

Useful educational websites include:

  • Woodlands
  • Woodlands.co.uk
  • Coolmaths4kids.com
  • Kidzone
  • Oak Academy

Homework:

In line with DfES guidance your child can expect thirty minutes of homework each night – this includes any individual spelling practice, independent reading and individual target times tables.

There is no set time table for when our homework should be completed throughout the week and can be completed around any extra-curricular activities. Spelling, Grammar, Punctuation and Complete Maths homework will be given out on a Friday to be completed for the following week. Any Reading and Times Table practise should be completed at least 4 x a week if possible.

Any additional homework will be given as appropriate.

Please make sure your child is always prepared for the weather to allow them to fully take part in our outdoor-learning based curriculum this term including: a labelled water bottle; suitable coat/shoes in wet or cold weather.
