We are excited to share our journey at Stilton CE Primary Academy with Thinking Matters.  As a school, we are always keen to consider different approaches and look at ways we can improve. Not only do we believe passionately about children's learning, but we are also beginning to consider how we can help them improve their thinking - the process that almost happens in secret - between the ears!

We are using evidence informed research about the science of learning which we will be sharing with you as our journey progresses.

The teachers are learning more effective ways of using questions to suit different contexts and pupil needs. Creating more complex questions will change the children to think more critically about their learning. Using a grid with question sentence stems will increasingly encourage them to ask their own deeper questions.

We have introduced the children to thinking frames which supports the children in organising their ideas.
