How to help at home
Support your child with their reading by spending 10 minutes every day reading with them. Use the questions in the reading diary and encourage your child to keep a reading log. It is very helpful if you can sign their reading diary when you hear your child read.
Make sure your child has a quiet place to work.
Some key skills to work on at home include:
- number bonds to 10 and then 20
- number and letter formation
- counting in 2s, 5s and 10s
Useful educational websites include:
Please see the school website for information and resources to help with your child’s letters and sounds.
