Year 2

Teacher: Mrs Barton

Teaching Assistant: Mrs L'Erario/ Mrs Kirkman

Spring 2

Our topic this half term is called 'Beat, Band and Boogie' - a music based topic where we will aiming to complete the term with a mini concert for you to join us.

We will be designing and making our own junk model instruments over the next few weeks. Please start saving useful looking boxes now!

The link to our topic based homework is below. Thank you for all the efforts made in ensuring we had a greater percentage of homework completed last term. The children tell me they enjoyed making their cakes... and the afternoon 'cake break' became quite a favourite! Whilst there is no cooking involved this term, the children have got a making activity...hopefully this will be as popular!

Reading

Well done to the children who saw their rocket zooming from planet to planet last term. Let's see if we can do even better this term! Children need to read 4 times a week, either at home or at school in order to be a 'Rocket Reader' for that week. We check reading diaries each Friday. Please support your child by enabling them to have the time to read at home and by bringing in reading diaries every day to school. Children are encouraged to change their books as often as they need to so.... keep reading!!

PE Kits
We have PE on a Tuesday (please note our new day) and a Friday however PE kits should be in school all week. Last term we had a lot of clothing without names in - please check regularly as names soon wash out and fade. Remember colder weather clothes too! A reminder too that long hair needs to be tied back and earrings should not be worn for PE lessons.
