Happy New Year! Welcome back to a very busy Spring Term in Year 2.
Our topic this half term is called 'Mess, Muck and Mixture' - and there will certainly be times that we live up to its name!
With this in mind, please could you provide your child with an oversized painting overall - an adult shirt / T shirt is ideal - that can be left in school for the duration of this topic. Thank you.
Thank you also for your generous support in providing boxes for our Great Fire of London experience. The children thoroughly enjoyed the whole process of designing, building and finally setting fire to their work. We are desperately trying to get our video uploaded but are having a couple of difficulties at the moment. Bear with us.
The link to our topic based homework is below. There was a disappointingly large percentage of the class who did not complete their homework last term. I appreciate time is precious, therefore, if you are conscious that your child will not be able to complete tasks let me know and we can support your child in school. Thank you.
Well done to the children who saw their rocket zooming from planet to planet last term. Let's see if we can do even better this term! Children need to read 4 times a week, either at home or at school in order to be a 'Rocket Reader' for that week. We check reading diaries each Friday. Please support your child by enabling them to have the time to read at home and by bringing in reading diaries every day to school. Children are encouraged to change their books as often as they need to so.... keep reading!!
We have PE on a Thursday (please note our new day) and a Friday however PE kits should be in school all week. Last term we had a lot of clothing without names in - please check regularly as names soon wash out and fade. Remember colder weather clothes too! A reminder too that long hair needs to be tied back and earrings should not be worn for PE lessons.
