How to help at home

Please read with your child lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots.

It really helps.

Encourage them to read lots too.

They could read fiction books, factual books, online books, magazines, children's newsapers, whatever interests tham. Reading regularly will make more difference to your child's all round progress than anything else.

It is also really good for your child to learn about what is going on in the world so encourage them to explore the bbc newsround website and watch the short episodes there or on tv.

Blue Peter is awesome and introduces your child to exciting ideas and activities to motivate and challenge them. It also motivates children to get off their devices and explore challenges and activities for a balanced lifestyle.

If you get a Blue Peter badge bring it in to inspire us all!

Encourage your child to do extra research about parts of a subject which interest them, using books or the internet.

We have exciting half termly home projects which the children work on through the half term and this is completed in their Home Learning Journal.

Please encourage your child to explore these challenges as creatively and imaginatively as possible. These project challenges allow the children to explore our school topics in a deeper way than can easily be done in class.

Spelling and reading should be completed daily.

Continue to learn times tables. For Year 3 these include 2 3 4 5 8 and 10.

Other information...

PE will be on Monday and Tuesday this term.

Children need to bring their PE kit to school on Mondays, including trainers, and it needs to be taken home on Friday to be washed.

Long hair is to be tied back and earrings removed for PE.

Please make sure your child is always prepared for the weather to allow them to fully take part in our outdoor-learning based curriculum this term including a labeled water bottle; suitable coat/shoes in wet or cold weather.
